The Gurgl Carat is a stunning architectural masterpiece completed in Gurgl, which is known as ‘The Diamond of the Alps.’ Located in the heart of Obergurgl, the building’s exterior is inspired by the facets of a fine diamond. Qualities such as the unique location and state-of-the-art technology make the Gurgl Carat an ideal international congress and event centre, as well as an exhibition centre for arts and crafts.

My art was installed in February 2020 and is on show in the centre until the end of the season at the end of April 2020*. Within the body of work on show in the Carat there are paintings of the local mountains, including an artwork painted live during an artist residency at the Hohe Mut Alm in Obergurgl over Half Term and Carnival, mountains from the Vorarlberg and Salzburgerland in Austria, plus scenes from Switzerland, Canada, France and Arctic Lapland.

Executive Director of the Gurgl Carat, Philipp Ribis, said of exhibiting British Artist Adam Attew’s Art - “The art, Adam Attew is known for, absolutely suits our house and concept. Not only have we named our halls and rooms by the surrounding mountains, we also want to share the work of great artists with our guests in an alpine atmosphere. We are very happy to finally see Adams‘ photorealistic mountainview paintings installed at our newly built Gurgl Carat.”

I am thrilled to be back in Obergurgl and to have the opportunity to work with the Gurgl Carat, local tourism board and the ski resort to present this body of work. Adam Attew said of this exhibition - “Being back in Obergurgl feels like a full circle, from learning to ski here so many years ago with my family to being back to show what their early influence set in motion. The last few years have been tough for me losing both my parents but I know they would be so incredibly proud of what I have achieved and that Obergurgl and the Gurgl Carat gave me this incredible opportunity to share my art and love for the mountains with the locals and visitors alike.
